BulgariaHQ exists because the honest version of this subject is hard to find. Most of what ranks oversells remote formation and quietly ignores where you actually pay tax. We do the opposite.
Why this site exists
It started with our own company. The founder runs Kohi Solutions Ltd, a Bulgarian EOOD, and built and shipped software from Bulgaria through it. Going through formation, banking, accounting, and the tax reality first-hand made one thing obvious: the guides online are written to sell a service, not to tell you what actually happens. So we write the version we wish we had read, cite the primary source for every number, and say plainly when something does not work.

Sourced and dated
Every figure links a primary source (PwC, lex.bg, the Registry Agency) and carries the date we last checked it.
First-hand
Written from filings we have actually made, not paraphrased from other blogs that paraphrased each other.
Honest about the walls
We lead with the inconvenient parts: bank visits, real relocation, annual filings. That is the point of the site.
Reviewed by a licensed professional (in progress)
Regulated formation, accounting, and legal work is delivered by licensed Bulgarian professionals. We are finalising a partner accounting firm, after which tax and legal pages will carry a named, credentialed reviewer. Until that is real, we do not pretend it is: there is no invented reviewer on any page.
